Free Process Freezer

Sometimes programs get stuck. While in many cases simply opening the task manager and killing a process is enough, in other cases you may lose work as a result. It is sometimes the case that a hung program is using so much processing power your PC drops to a snail’s pace.

Free Process Freezer is made for these moments. A quick, lightweight program, it simply lists all running processes, and allows you to freeze any you like. Once your system has calmed down, you can then defrost programs. Sometimes, with more system resources available, the hung program will come back to life. It’s not a certainty, but sometimes works. Free Process Freezer is also useful, in that you can freeze hung programs while you finish other business before restarting your computer. While it’s a useful function, Free Process Freezer won’t replace your task manager. It shows no statistics about how much memory a process is using, and you have to search for hung processes manually, from the list of all running processes.
